Many families in the USA speak Spanish at home. This new change helps them learn about Scouting. It helps parents support their kids. Leaders can also use these tools. This makes Scouting welcome to even more kids.

New Spanish Scouting Materials

You can now find many important books in Spanish. These books are for both Cub Scouts and Scouts BSA. This makes a huge difference for families.

For Cub Scouts, these handbooks are ready:

There is also a special guide for parents. It teaches how to keep children safe. This guide is called “How to Protect Your Children from Child Abuse: A Parent’s Guide.”

Carlos Torres is a leader at Scouting America. He called this “history in the making.” He said it shows Scouting is truly for all of America. He wants all families to feel welcome.

Why This Change Matters So Much

Many people in the USA speak Spanish. About 62 million people speak Spanish at home. This is roughly one out of every five people. Scouting America wants to reach these families.

For a long time, many leaders needed to translate things themselves. This was hard work. Now, the official materials are ready. This makes it simpler for everyone involved.

The goal is to grow Scouting. They want to include more kids. This move helps them do just that. It shows they care about all communities.

Roger C. Mosby is the Chief Scout Executive. He said it is very important to help all kinds of families. He is happy to welcome more families to Scouting. This change helps make that happen.

This big project took a lot of planning. It has been worked on for about 18 months. A lot of effort went into making this happen. It shows how much they care.

Translating these books cost money. It was over $100,000. This money came from donations. People gave money to help this project. Their kindness made it possible.

Scouting America listens to its families. They will keep adding more Spanish materials. They want to translate everything important. They will use feedback from families to decide what to do next.

This is a great step for Scouting. It helps more kids find adventure. It helps them learn new skills. It brings more families together.

Where can you find these new materials?

Leaders can also get a free digital copy of the parent safety guide. This makes it easy for them to share important information. It helps keep all children safe.

This new program makes Scouting even bigger. It welcomes more children and families. It helps everyone feel like they belong. What a wonderful way to serve the community!
