Prospective Girl Scouts seek members to charter new troop

A brand new Girl Scout troop is forming in Columbus, Texas. Girls are welcome to join this exciting new group. Organizers need more members to start the troop officially.

You can help make this happen. A special meeting is set for Wednesday, October 25th. It starts at 6 PM. The meeting location is Columbus United Methodist Church.

This is a chance for girls to join Girl Scouts right now. They can build friendships. They will also learn new skills.

New Troop Needs Girls and Leaders Today

Prospective Girl Scouts are actively seeking members. They need at least five girls to charter a new troop. Two adult volunteers are also critical. Without these numbers, the troop cannot officially begin.

Volunteer leader Lisa Blazek is helping with the effort. She urges interested families to come to the meeting. All girls from Kindergarten through 12th grade can join. This is a big opportunity for local kids.

Girl Scouts of the San Jacinto Council supports this initiative. They serve the area where Columbus is located. You can learn more about the broader organization at the Girl Scouts of the USA website.
