Chuck Clark was a very important scout leader.<\/p>\n
He led Boy Scout Troop 374 for many years.<\/p>\n
Clark served as a leader for an amazing 55 years<\/strong>.<\/p>\n He taught many boys in Westfield, Indiana.<\/p>\n Clark passed away in 2020<\/strong>.<\/p>\n He was 76 years old<\/strong> when he died.<\/p>\n He helped shape many young lives.<\/p>\n Ethan Jolliff was one of those boys.<\/p>\n Ethan looked up to Clark a lot.<\/p>\n Clark guided Ethan to become an Eagle Scout.<\/p>\n This is the highest rank in Scouting.<\/p>\n Ethan wanted to thank Clark in a big way.<\/p>\n So, he decided to build a lasting memorial.<\/p>\n This project helped Ethan earn his Eagle Scout rank.<\/p>\n What a wonderful way to give back!<\/p>\n Ethan Jolliff is 18 years old<\/strong>.<\/p>\n He recently graduated from Westfield High School.<\/p>\n Now he goes to Indiana University-Purdue University Columbus.<\/p>\n His memorial project started in spring 2023<\/strong>.<\/p>\n He spent time planning everything.<\/p>\n Building the memorial took about two months<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Many people helped Ethan with his big task.<\/p>\n His father, Scott Jolliff, worked with him.<\/p>\n Other troop members and church friends also lent a hand.<\/p>\n The memorial was finished in time for a special dedication.<\/p>\n It was dedicated on October 8, 2023<\/strong>.<\/p>\n The cost for the whole project was around $2,000<\/strong>.<\/p>\n People gave donations to help pay for it.<\/p>\n Fundraisers also gathered money for materials.<\/p>\n What does the memorial look like?<\/p>\n It is a quiet spot for reflection.<\/p>\n Here are some of its special parts:<\/p>\n The plaque has these words:<\/p>\n “In memory of Charles F. Clark, 1943-2020, Scoutmaster of Troop 374, 55 years<\/strong> of dedicated service to Boy Scouts of America, Helping boys become men.”<\/p>\n This plaque tells everyone about Clark’s wonderful life.<\/p>\n It reminds us of his dedication to scouting.<\/p>\n Ethan shared his feelings about Clark.<\/p>\n “He was a good guy,” Ethan said.<\/p>\n “He was always there to offer advice.”<\/p>\n “Always there to help you out,” Ethan added.<\/p>\n Clark truly made a difference in Ethan’s life.<\/p>\n “He helped shape me into the man I am today,” Ethan shared.<\/p>\n Ethan hopes the memorial helps people.<\/p>\n “I hope it helps remind everyone of the legacy he left behind,” he said.<\/p>\n Clark’s son, Brad Clark, saw the memorial.<\/p>\n “It\u2019s wonderful,” Brad said.<\/p>\n “It really honors his legacy.”<\/p>\n Brad believes his dad would have been surprised.<\/p>\n “He would have been blown away by this,” Brad told reporters.<\/p>\n John D.
